The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its television scores. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the house instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course every one of the different gamblers receive five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the bank’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your bet goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, with a figure on par with the initial wager. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The casino pays out money even with your wager and set odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
