Ah, the poker tilt. If a poker enthusiast states at no time to have looked over the barrel of an upcoming tilt – they’re either lying or they have not been gambling long enough. Hands that typically cause players to go on tilt are hands you were the favored or at a minimum believed you were until you were side swiped and you burned a big chunk of your stack. Bad defeats are bound to develop. Accept that reality right now, I will say it once more – if your siblings enjoy cards, if your parents play cards, if your grandpa enjoys cards – We all have bad losses sometime. It is an unavoidable experience of competing in Holdem, or for that matter any kind of poker.
Since we are assumingly (nearly all of us) playing poker for one purpose – to acquire $$$$, it certainly makes sense that we would gamble accordingly to maximize our profit potential. Now let’s say you are up one hundred dollars off of a $100 deposit, and you take a gigantic hit in a NL game and your stack is only has remaining one hundred and twenty dollars. You have burned eighty dollars in a round where you should have picked up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and enjoyed a 10 – 1 advantage. And that guy! He sucked you out on the river? – Well hold it right there. This is a quintessential opportunity for a fresh gambler to begin tilting. They basically burned too much $$$$ on one round that they should have won and they’re pissed
